Avian Vet: While not a bird supply, developing a relationship with a good Avian Vet is essential.  Exotic pets, not all vet's know about parrots.  Avian Vet's go through a stringent training process focusing on the specialized health needs of parrots.

Bird Cage:  A bird cage is your parrots home and territory. If you can't afford a bird stand, consider a bird cage with a play top.

Bird Food: Our Board Certified Avian Vet highly recommends Harrison's Bird Food.  We feed our parrots Harrison's Bird Food and supplement it with Goldenfeast and Crazy Corn Bird Food for variety.  Our parrots love the bursting flavors in Goldenfeast Bird Food Blends, especially the fruits and nuts.  They flap their wings with excitement when they see us preparing warm Crazy Corn, too!

Bird Perches: Some of the most important and useful pet bird supplies you can by are a variety of bird perches. Parrots need a variety of bird perches to keep the muscles in their feet healthy.  Not only do parrots perch on their feet all day long, many species of parrots eat with their feet, climb about their cage and get their exercise by having strong, fit foot muscles.  Choose a variety of bird perches in a range of assorted diameters enabling your parrot to stretch and exercise all the muscles in their feet.  Our favorite perches are Java Bird Perches and Sandy Perches.  Handicap parrots appreciate Booda Cotton Bird Perches that allow them to sink their claws in.

Bird Toys:  If you have parrots you'll need to spend a portion of your pet bird supplies budget on bird toys. Every parrot must have a variety of bird toys to avoid boredom and the development of bad habits.  We've categorized bird toys by parrot size, favorite bird toy textures and bird toy function.  Let us know if you have any questions about our bird toys.

Bird Stands: Bird stands help your bird socialize and get some exercise and are one of the most important pet bird supplies you can get.  Exercise and socializaation are both very important needs of any pet bird, both big and small.  Like a bird cage, get the biggest bird stand that you can afford for your parrot yet find usable in your home.  The more branch length to climb about, the better.  Wood bird stands with natural branch perching surfaces are best for foot health.
