Parakeet Cage Accessories
A proper parakeet cage features both length and height, especially if your parakeet will spend most of the time in it's parakeet cage. Parakeets like to fly cross wise and climb. Like all bird cages, error on the size of a bigger cage. A minimum size bird cage for a single parakeet is 18" x 18" x 18" while pair of standard parakeets need a cage sized 39" x 20" x 32".

Your parakeet cage will need several 1/2" to 3/4" diameter sized bird perches. Consider getting at least one Sandy Perch Bird Perch to trim your parakeets nails. Put a perch near both the food and water bowls and one up high, since parakeets like to sleep high in the bird cage. Parakeets especially enjoy multi-branched natural perches.
Most parakeet cages have lift up doors with food and water cups that fit inside. We offer replacement cage cups in standard sizes. If your parakeet poops in its water dish you may want to consider a parakeet sized water bottle.
A cuttle bone will condition and trim your parakeets beak plus provide much needed calcium. We recommend a Treat and Cuttlebone Holder to keep the cuttlebone clean and contain cuttlebone dust. If you don't care for cuttlebone, consider a Small Tooty Fruity Bird Perch to provide vitamins and minerals.
Lastly, don't forget the bird bed. Parakeets love cozy Scooter Z Bird Beds or Happy Hut Bird Beds. Not only do the bird beds contain the feather dander, but they create a dark, warm environment so that you can make sure that your parakeet gets a good nights sleep.
Parakeets love Birdie Bungees that provide exercise and a bouncy, fun ride. Our small size is made from 1/2" parakeet safe cotton or sisal rope. Budgies also love bird swings and bird cage ladders. Both parakeet sized swings and bird ladders exercise the core body muscles and legs. Snuggle Rings are a parakeet favorite too. We all know that a busy parakeet is a happy parakeet.
