Always have your new pets cage ready before your bring your pet home. When choosing a cage, bar space is the first thing to consider. You want to insure that your bird can't get its head stuck between the bars. Next, choose the biggest cage that will fit in your space and that you can afford. When you recieve your cage, wipe it down with clean, soapy water and then set it up.
Even if you plan to allow your pet bird out of the cage daily, which we highly recommend, you bird will still spend a good portion of its day inside the cage. The bird cage needs to be accessorized to offer a place to rest, an area to exercise and plenty of toys to occupy your parrot and prevent boredom. You'll want to offer your new pet several perches to exercise it's feet You know how your feet ache when you stand on the same surface all day long.
We recommend the Large Economy Flight Cage for canaries and finches up to cockatiels and lovebirds. With it's small bar space it will provide your pet with a safe, spacious yet affordable home. You can easily pull the cage off the stand and hose it down or spray it in the shower. This spacious flight cage stands almost 5 feet tall, but rolls easily from room to room on the stand with casters.
