Parrots Need Intelligent Bird Toys

Smart parrots absolutely love bird toys that have foraging opportunities where they can get actual bird food and bird treats by solving a problem.

If you watched the video above, you'll see how Peachy was presented with a Buffet Ball strung on a Stainless Steel Skewer with a rockhard coconut shell on top - in effort to create some type of lid that Peachy would have to hold up.

I placed some of his favorite nuts inside the Buffet Ball Bird Toy. The nuts were, of course, bigger than the slots in the bird toy, creating a major foraging opportunity for the parrot. First, Peachy had to figure out how to open the Buffet Ball Bird Toy. Not an easy task since the screw on sides are larger than his beak. Surprisingly, my smart bird wedged the coconut between the branches of his Java Wood Bird Stand so that he had enough leverage to open the bird toy!

I have to admit, I'm a bit stunned at his ingenuity! They say that birds need intelligent bird toys, because they are as smart as a kindergarten aged child. Peachy is at least as smart as a fifth grader!!! So, can I teach him to pick up the mess he flung on the floor now!
