Proper bird parrot grooming is important for both your pet birds safety and to possibly prevent behavior problems and future health problems. Bird grooming involves providing a proper wing trim, possible beak trimming and trimming parrot claws.

Important information about parrots:  feathers, the beak and parrot claws all contain a "quick" or a blood vessel.  You must know how to avoid clipping a blood vessel in order to prevent a parrot emergency.  Parrots only have a minimal amount of blood in their bodies as a biological measure to keep them light weight and flight ready. Any bleeding needs to be considered a parrot emergency and must be stopped immediately.
